I announced on yesterday’s Subject:CINEMA that our long-awaited website upgrade was going to go up today.
However, a ongoing problem has arisen with our host platform, and we are not going to be able to complete work on it at this time. Over the next two or so weeks, you will continue to see some upgrades and improvements as they can be implemented but the full new site will not be launched until we make a MAJOR change.
I have been with my current web host for over a decade now, and have always been fairly satisfied with their service. However, in the last two years, we have had a great deal of problems stemming from site load time to unreliable databases, and on various occasions have been slow to respond and unable to find out what is happening with our sites.
Therefore I have made the decision to move to a new, more powerful web hosting service, one with high-traffic capacity and other amenities, and I am going to complete this move to the new host FIRST. It will take a few days because our domain is ALSO currently hosted by my present web host and will have to be transferred to my primary domain-holding account BEFORE we can implement a move. I expect no major downtime on any of the sites as we make this move. And I will be posting a series of updates throughout the next few weeks on new features being implemented ahead of the move
This move will also allow us to take better control of what we are able to do in other areas as well. PNR’s new expansion phase is expected to run off and on through the end of April or so, and I know that what we are doing is the next phase of growth for our site.
